Bathing opportunities

Baden and leisure
The north beach is a five kilometer long and up to 80 m wide sandy beach of very good quality. The constant sand attachments through the Baltic Sea ensure that the beach becomes wider year after year. As a result, the sea is particularly flat here and therefore suitable for families with children. The fine, white sand and the supervision by the ""Deutsche Lebens-Rettungsgesellschaft e.V."" guarantee carefree bathing fun. Added to this is the protected location in Prerowbucht and the clean water, the quality of which is regularly checked. Several beach sections are released as a nudist area. This continues to maintain a group of over 50 years. The west coast of the Darß peninsula is rougher and wilder. The original forest area of the ""Darßer Ort"" headland extends directly to the beach. As a recognition feature of this coast, the wind refugees, trees that are bent by the constant wind are bent but not broken. At the top of the ""Darßer Ort"" there is a lighthouse that can be celebrated at certain times, and the natural exhibition ""Natureum"", a branch of the German Sea Museum in Stralsund. The exhibition indicates the diversity, dynamics and need for protection of nature and landscape on the Darß. Excursion boats regularly start from the Prerower harbor in the Bodstedter Bodden and the adjacent Saaler Bodden. The crane rest areas east of Zingst are also approached on the excursions. In addition to the many pipe -covered captain's houses with their colorful front doors, the sights of Prerow are also the many pipe -covered front doors, also the Seemannskirche made of bricks built in 1728. In the associated cemetery there are still old captain graves from around 1800.
