Vacation in Malcesine

The narrow streets, ...
The port with its colorful houses, the Scaligerburg and the Palazzo dei Capitani built in the style of the Venetian Gothic make up the charm of Malcesines. The 15th century Palazzo was once the seat of the Venetian governor of the east bank, who alternately resided in Garda, Torri and Malcesine. To the lake side, a small palm garden is opened up with a jetty, through which the Capitano was able to easily reach its feudal dwelling.

On every postcard ...
Can you immediately recognize Malcesine by the castle that has been enthroned over the carmine red roofs, which has been watching over her town for centuries. The Langobardenkönig Alboin 568 was the first to build a castle on the rocky lead. All around, the first settlement was nestled close to the walls of the fortress. In 1277 the scales took on the fortress, and later changes according to the wishes of Alberto della Scala gave the castle today's face. On the way through the cobblestone alleys up to the well -preserved Scaligerburg, a further look over the lake opens up. Once at the top, you can visit the 32 -meter -high tower of the fort for a fee, the Museo del Garda e Del Baldo with a representation of flora and fauna in the region, a documentation of the Venetian shipping transport and the small Goethe Museum. The museum dedicated to the Great Literaten is in possession of a copy of the sketchy drawing, which Goethe almost cheated in September 1786. It happened as follows: Goethe, enthusiastic about the grace of the castle, which boldly sits down on the steeply into the lake, spontaneously pulled out his pencil and put this impressive sight on paper. He was observed and immediately arrested as a supposed spy of the hostile Austrians. With hands and feet, the traveling of German origin tried to prove his innocence until he was finally believed that he only made the drawing for his travel report and release him again.

Sports & Freetime

Golf
There are currently 5 golf courses on Lake Garda, which are becoming increasingly popular. The environment is unique of almost all systems. Golfing on Lake Garda means joy in the Mediterranean hilly landscape between olive groves and cypresses, in the background the water of the lake glitters, which almost resembles the sea.

The golf courses are largely in a top state, juicy, well-groomed green and original design show that this sport is very important on the southern edge of the Alps.

The places are generally open all year round, German and Austrian players are also drawn to the evergreen fairways in winter. Typical for Italian golf courses is a day of rest a week (mostly Sunday). In addition, the fairways are only available at certain times, e.g. at lunchtime. All systems are coupled to hotels, enjoying green fairy as a hotel guest. The prices are very different depending on the season and space, but can be compared with German prices.
