Vacation in Salò

Renewed ...
A gray day in Salò's past was October 30, 1901 when a heavy earthquake shook the city and left it in ruins. The town was rebuilt, gave it a promenade and since then it has been increasingly popular with Italians in need of relaxation who spend their vacation here. In parallel to the promenade, the main business road runs to the Porta di San Giovanni, which is located in the east of the old town. Here and in the small side streets, a wide variety of shops line up and invite you to enjoy a pleasant stroll.

Worth seeing ...
In the course of the reconstruction, the Palazzo della Podestà, which was originally from the 16th century, today's town hall (Palazzo Municipal) was enriched with sculptures and paintings of local artists. The well -known sculptor Angelo Zanelli created the bust of the Gaspare Bertolotti from Salò. The violin builder Bertolotti (1540-1609) saw the light of the world in Salò and created a violin with an ideal abundance of sound, the form of which was adopted by Stradivari. Even today, it serves the violin farmers as a model. According to tradition, Gaspare gave its very first violin to the shape of Lake Garda in order to achieve greater volatility. Today the space that the marble coast of the most famous child in the city is adorned is the traus hall of the town hall, so Gaspare looks over the civil servant during the marriages.

Sports & Freetime

Golf
There are currently 5 golf courses on Lake Garda, which are becoming increasingly popular. The environment is unique of almost all systems. Golfing on Lake Garda means joy in the Mediterranean hilly landscape between olive groves and cypresses, in the background the water of the lake glitters, which almost resembles the sea.

The golf courses are largely in a top state, juicy, well-groomed green and original design show that this sport is very important on the southern edge of the Alps.

The places are generally open all year round, German and Austrian players are also drawn to the evergreen fairways in winter. Typical for Italian golf courses is a day of rest a week (mostly Sunday). In addition, the fairways are only available at certain times, e.g. at lunchtime. All systems are coupled to hotels, enjoying green fairy as a hotel guest. The prices are very different depending on the season and space, but can be compared with German prices.
