Vacation in Garda

The landmark of Lake Garda ...
Garda is located at the foot of the La Rocca mountain, which is considered the landmark of Lake Garda. In addition to beautiful views, the 650 meter high mountain also offers numerous leisure opportunities. Hikers and mountain bikers find optimal conditions here. From the summit you have the best view of the lake and the surrounding landscape. La Rocca also captivates with its unique fauna that inspires every nature lover.

The origins on the trail ...
Remains of pile dwellings in Garda testify to very early human settlements. Thanks to Charlemagne of the Great, the holiday resort, which today has almost 4,000 inhabitants today, had an influence and wealth. During this time the lake was also given the name of Lake Garda. The influence of Venetian rule in the 14th century is particularly visible on the Palace of Capitani at the harbor. Furthermore, the parish church of Santa Maria Maggiore from the 15th century needs to be explored. At that time, the lake, which previously held the Roman name Lacus Benacus, was named on Lake Garda. Admirable palazzi reflect the influence of Venetian rule in the 14th century. Above all, the Palast Capitani on the Piazza Catullo at the harbor. The port basin leading to the front door of the palace at the time fell victim to the artificially poured -up naval.

Sports & Freetime

Golf
There are currently 5 golf courses on Lake Garda, which are becoming increasingly popular. The environment is unique of almost all systems. Golfing on Lake Garda means joy in the Mediterranean hilly landscape between olive groves and cypresses, in the background the water of the lake glitters, which almost resembles the sea.

The golf courses are largely in a top state, juicy, well-groomed green and original design show that this sport is very important on the southern edge of the Alps.

The places are generally open all year round, German and Austrian players are also drawn to the evergreen fairways in winter. Typical for Italian golf courses is a day of rest a week (mostly Sunday). In addition, the fairways are only available at certain times, e.g. at lunchtime. All systems are coupled to hotels, enjoying green fairy as a hotel guest. The prices are very different depending on the season and space, but can be compared with German prices.

Climb
To the climbing area of Garda you can reach the Albisano via a small road, which, coming from the south, branches off right shortly before the end of the town. On the right side of the street there is the opportunity to park. The rising path to the walls begins on the opposite side, leads past two houses and takes about 10 minutes. It should be noted that the entry is prohibited during the hunting season, from September 15th to January 30th.

About the area: It is particularly climbing on vertical walls that require technology and endurance. The tours move in the 5c to 8a difficulty area, especially the 6a category occurs frequently.

The walls are aligned to the east and well secured. A beautiful view of the lake makes all efforts forget.
