Bergen offers many leisure opportunities. In Ralswiek there is a sailing school and a ship connection to the island of Hiddensee. Bergen and hikers also offer a good starting point for cyclists and hikers. Bike paths lead from mountains via Ralswiek and Sagard to Cape Arkona and from Bergen via Putbus to Garz. A pleasure is also to explore nature in the area on horseback. Many riders offer hiking rides into nature or carriage rides. Bergen and its surroundings offer the best conditions, however, to actively shape your vacation. Nothing is far from here!
The Störtebeker Festival in Ralswiek is a special attraction. Every summer, from the end of June to early September, the small village turns into a pirate stronghold with a folk festival character. On a unique natural stage, part of the life story of the legendary pirate is re -enacted and thousands of spectators can marvel at over 140 extras, 20 actors, 30 horses, 4 ships with ship leaders in the performances every day.
Culinary
The fish is very important not only in the coastal regions here in the center of the island. At almost every corner you encounter the small mobile fish stands on which fishing fresh fish and fish rolls are sold. You absolutely have to try this!"
